Painter and teacher, born in Faversham, Kent. He attended Canterbury Art School, 1898–1902, then the Royal College of Art, 1902–07. He became principal of Bournemouth College of Art, 1913–47, and exhibited RA and elsewhere. The Russell-Cotes Art Gallery and Museum, Bournemouth, holds his work. Lived at Christchurch, Hampshire, where he was a member of the Arts Guild.
