Watercolour painter, designer, model-maker and decorative artist. Born at Wandsworth Common, London, he studied at Putney School of Art just prior to World War I, then again 1919–22. Ashenden’s designing and model-making skills were employed widely, including the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum and the Century of Progress Exhibition, in Chicago. During World War II he was a camouflage officer with the Air Ministry. Exhibited RA, RI and in the provinces. Lived in London.
