Figurative painter, daughter of the artists Colin and Sadie Allen. She studied fine art, painting, at City & Guilds of London Art School, 1982–5. Produced many commissioned works, including a portrait of the novelist Margaret Forster; a painting for Lord Inglewood, of a Conservative Party rally; and a depiction of Alexander Fleming’s laboratory for St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. Mixed shows included Irthing Valley Centre, Brampton; Sark Gallery, Hethersgill (founded by her parents); Contemporary Fine Art, Eton; and Stephen Ferris Gallery, Nashville, Tennessee, in America. Solo shows included Castlegate House Gallery, Cockermouth, 1998. Carlisle City Museum and Art Gallery hold Allen’s work. Lived in south London.
