Painter and teacher, born in Birmingham, who studied at the School of Art there. Early in the 1920s he toured Italy extensively, painting townscapes and landscapes also visiting Spain and Majorca. Exhibited RSBA and Fine Art Society especially, also RA, RI and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool. He taught in local authority schools and was art instructor, 1945–6, to the Women’s Royal Naval Service. Birmingham City Museum and Art Gallery holds his work. Lived at Haslemere, Surrey.
