Portrait and decorative artist and designer, born in London. Studied at Goldsmiths’ College and in South Kensington with Arthur Cope and John Watson Nicol, also in France, Spain and Belgium. Aird was at various times consultant to the Calico Printers’ Association, Manchester; taught at Salford School of Art, and at the Regional College of Art, Bradford. Exhibited RA, RP, NS, IS and widely in the provinces. Victoria & Albert Museum holds his work. Lived in Bradford.
