Influenced by the Cenotaph in Whitehall, this is a largely plain, rectangular column with Doric entablature and a square frieze on the upper section of the column. Two commemorative bronze memorial plaques are fixed on to the north side of the monument along with a carved stone wreath on the upper section and lower down the column, the word, 'Pax' engraved in the stone.
