To the left of the watercolour, smoke is bellowing out from what is perhaps the Copper Works. The foreground is divided into two winding paths – one of land and the other of water, both leading to a small bridge in the distance in the middle of the painting. There are two small figures in the distance next to the bridge. A bird flys close to the surface of the water and the reflections of Neath Abbey can be seen as well. To the right-hand side, Neath Abbey is depicted, with some cows grazing in front of it at the water’s edge. The pastel tones used in this watercolour suggest that we are viewing a sunset.
