Impressionistic view of a window area of the Café Verrey, Regent Street, London. A group of three men sit at a table by the window, apparently engrossed in conversation. On the left a woman sits alone, her head turned towards the group. The title implies that the group are discussing a secretive plan, hence the woman's natural curiosity to listen. It is a café with a grand interior including bay windows, hanging candle lights, wooden columns and gilted decorative features. The people's attire is smart including suits and bowler hats. The woman wears an elegant black hat. Figures and buildings can be seen through the windows.
