The piece was purchased from the touring exhibition of Collier's work that was held at the Mere Hall Art Gallery in Bolton in the 1920s, specifically to illustrate and aid interpretation of the site at Dendera and the collection of Hathor material that was excavated by the Egypt Exploration Society in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It was then displayed at the Chadwick Museum, Bolton during the 1920s and 1930s.
