This painting was presented to the Museum in the memory of Mrs A. H. Marindin, the wife of Arthur Henry Marindin, who served with The Black Watch during the First World War and retired as Honorary Major General in 1935. Marindin went on to be Honorary Colonel of 6th/7th Black Watch, Chairman of The Black Watch Association, and Chairman of The Black Watch Museum. He invented the Marindin Range-Finder. He died in 1947.
