More about

The Norris Museum is the Museum of Huntingdonshire, with objects, pictures and archives relating to all parts and every period of this historic county. Our art gallery collection is strongest in the field of watercolours, particularly local landscapes, and reflects especially the work of the school of artists whom recent research has shown to be active in the valley of the Great Ouse between the 1880s and the 1920s. Easel paintings are a smaller part of the collection but include notable works by Ouse valley painters such as Walter Dendy Sadler and Charles Whymper, as well as artists like Edward William Cooke who worked in the Huntingdonshire fens on the invitation of John Heathcote, the artistic squire of Conington Castle.
