(b Gaeta, 8 Jan. 1680; d Naples, 1 Sept. 1764). Italian painter. He was a pupil of Solimena in Naples, then in about 1706 moved to Rome, where he became one of the leading decorative painters during the first half of the 18th century, developing an elegant Rococo style out of the High Baroque tradition.
