More about

The art collection at Sheffield Children’s Hospital primarily comprises of work which has been purchased by or donated to Artfelt, The Children’s Hospital Charity's arts programme. It predominantly features examples from the past decade and we display a large variety of pieces, ranging from mosaics and ceramics to textiles and weavings. In recent years there has been a strong move away from traditional murals painted directly onto walls or ceilings, towards more contemporary and durable alternatives. The majority of the paintings in our collection are acrylic on board and can be found throughout the hospital. They provide our young visitors and their families with a welcoming and friendly environment which reflects the high quality of care they receive. Artfelt aims to commission and support local artists over others. Prominent Sheffield artists’ works include ‘Sheffield from Dore Moor’ by Kristan Baggaley and ‘Open Day at Sheffield Children’s Hospital’ by Joe Scarborough.
