These Bronze Age Urns excavated by Reverend A. B. Hutchings at Winterslow are now in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford. This is one of four paintings by Guest in the Museum’s collection.

Despite its age, this painting and the others in the group, have a surrealist quality which has led Guest’s work to be compared with that of the twentieth-century landscape painter Paul Nash.
