Wife of George III, Queen Charlotte was the mother of 15 royal children including George IV and William IV. In 1817 she came to Bath to take the spa cure staying for several weeks. As well as drinking spa water at the Pump Room, Queen Charlotte attended services at Bath Abbey and plays at the theatre. Her presence in Bath attracted a great deal of attention locally.
