Sir Deian Rhys Hopkins was, from 2001 until 2009, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of London South Bank University. He is an historian, academic and educationalist, originally from Wales. Hopkin was Head of Aberystwyth University's History Department where he taught for 24 years. In 1991 he moved to the City of London Polytechnic (now London Metropolitan University) before his tenure at South Bank University.
