This painting depicts the 'Orama' near the harbour of Aden, Yemen. She was built in Barrow for the Orient Line and launched in 1924. The artist was the principal artist used by the shipyard from the late 1940s until his retirement in the early 1980s. He provided impressions of both projected and implemented ship designs as a means of promoting the Yard and selling potential orders.
