A view of Armagh from the east. Although painted with little regard to accurately depicting the local topography, some buildings are easily recognised. The Church of Ireland cathedral dedicated to St Patrick stands on the central hill with its distinctive squat tower, the Primate's palace nestles among trees on the left and the new Roman Catholic cathedral is shown gleaming white, but only half-built and without its spires.
