Bust portrait of Henderson. He faces slightly to the right. He has dark hair, a beard and moustache and wears a black gown and white ruff.

Although damaged, the vigour and characterful quality of this painting remains. It appears to be of the standard type of portrait of Henderson, of which the best is a three-quarter length at Duff House, Banffshire.
