Painter, teacher and curator, full name Percy Walter Woodington and known as Woody, born in London where he continued to work. He attended Woolwich Polytechnic School of Art and City and Guilds of London Art School under A R Middleton Todd. He then taught part-time at Woolwich Polytechnic, 1946–60, and was curator of the Royal Academy Schools, 1961–84. Was a member of RBA and RP, also showing at RA, NEAC and New Grafton Gallery, completing town and country house portraits. RA, Zambian government and Unilever Ltd bought his work.
