Realist painter, based in northwest London, working from the 1950s. He showed his work at the RA Summer Exhibition, Christie’s and Sotheby’s, Bonhams in Knightsbrige also offering examples. There was a retrospective at The Chambers Gallery in 2006, where pictures exhibited included a 1950 portrait of Jonathan Miller and other figurative work. The gallery commented that “Weissbort’s work has always gone against the grain of contemporary art but, for him, the careful study of nature and a love of the visual world are still as valid and relevant for painting as they have ever been.”
