Painter, printmaker, creator of hanging constructions and lecturer, born in Welling, Kent. He studied at Gravesend School of Art, 1951–2; Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art, 1952–4; and, after National Service, at the Central School of Arts and Crafts, 1957–60. Walker worked in industry, then in 1966 moved to St Ives, Cornwall. He was a member of RE, Penwith Society of Arts (from 1972 he directed its Print Workshop), Newlyn Society of Artists and Plymouth Society of Artists. He was a visiting lecturer at Falmouth College of Art, Plymouth College of Art/Design and at several colleges/universities in America and Switzerland. Group shows included Marlborough Graphics, 1974; Eye Gallery, Bristol, 1988; Tate Gallery, St Ives, with Porthmeor Printmakers, 1993; and St Ives Now, Collyer-Bristow Gallery, 1996.
