Painter, artist in collage and teacher who was brought up in the Isle of Man. He studied at Chelsea School of Art and Royal College of Art, then exhibited at London galleries, having solo shows at the Brook Street and Hanover Galleries. In addition he did illustrative work for Shell-Mex and BP and wrote the book A Prize for Art. Lived in London for some years, teaching at Chelsea School of Art. Christie’s in South Kensington offered a collection of Wakeford’s pictures in 1997.
