Painter, born in Scarborough, Yorkshire, who aimed to define “the sublimity of nature in her wild state.” He did a foundation course at Yorkshire Coast Campus, Westwood Campus, 1994; graduated with honours from University College Scarborough, 1995–8; and gained his master’s from York University, 1998–00. Group shows included the Scarborough Art Gallery, from 1989; Ferens Art Gallery, Hull, and Pannett Gallery, Whitby, both 2000; University of Hull, The Media Centre and York University, all 2001; and Sea Fever, Oliver Contemporary, 2002. He shared an exhibition with Helen Donnelly there in 2004. In 2001, Turner carried out a commission Hafney Art for Hospitals at Scarborough Hospital.
