Painter, draughtsman and teacher, born in Scholar Green, Cheshire, whose oil on canvas Studio Dialogue I, at Royal Over-Seas League Open, 1996, was one of a series “which deals with issues of reflection, gaze and scrutiny”. Taylor studied at Mid-Cheshire College of Art, Gloucester College of Arts & Technology and Royal College of Art. She was artist-in-residence at Durham Cathedral, 1987–8, and at DLI Museum & Art Gallery, in the city, 1988, then was fellow in painting at Gloucestershire College, 1988–9. From 1987 held a number of part-time and visiting teaching posts, including Gloucestershire College; Coventry, Newcastle, Nottingham/Trent, Sheffield and Sunderland Polytechnics; Birmingham Institute of Art & Design; Central St Martins College of Art & Design; Cheltenham & Gloucester College of Higher Education; and Royal College of Art.
