Landscape painter, born in Glasgow where he studied at the School of Art. His wife, who died eight years before him, was the artist Stansmore Stevenson, who also worked under her maiden name of Stansmore Dean. Stevenson worked for some time in France, was a member of RSW and IS and also showed at Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, RA and elsewhere. From early 1930s settled in Kirkcudbright.
