Artist and designer, born in London, who studied at Wimbledon and Brighton Schools of Art, 1958–62. Marriage and family commitments delayed Pye in fulfilling her early promise, the acquisition of a suitable studio in the mid-1980s allowing her to work more expansively. Expressionist, abstracted studio still lifes were a key theme. Group shows included Another Pair of Eyes, Michael Parkin Gallery, 1984; Cleveland International Drawing Biennale, 1989; Small is Beautiful, Flowers East, 1992; and The Discerning Eye, Mall Galleries, where she was a prize winner, 1996. Later solo shows included Art Space, 1997. Later commissions included a carpet design for Mercury House atrium, Cable & Wireless; and a painting for Sutton House, National Trust Foundation for Art.
