Artist in watercolour, gouache and acrylic, born in Liverpool. He was educated at the John Lyon School, 1948–53, then read economics at Southampton University, after which he “masqueraded as a chartered accountant”. While working in industry Perry began to exhibit in mixed shows in the Camberley, Surrey, area, having his first solo in the local library. By the time he was offered redundancy in 1971 Perry was successful enough to paint full-time, and he moved to Dorset, where he settled at Donhead St Mary in a converted water-mill. Perry was made a member of RI in 1978, the year he won its Gold Medal. He also showed at RA, RBA and RSMA and had many solo exhibitions, including Linda Blackstone Gallery, Pinner, 1986, and a memorial show, Century Galleries, Henley-on-Thames, 1994.
