Painter, born in London, who created pictures which have been likened to music: highly coloured, intense and surreal worlds peppered with characters and landscapes that might have emerged from computer games. Perfect studied at Chelsea School of Art, 1981–3; St Martin’s School of Art, 1983–6; and Central St Martins, 1989–91. Group shows included Whitechapel Open Studios, from 1992; Ruth Bachofner Gallery, Los Angeles, America, 1997; Death to the Fascist Insect that Preys on the Life of the People, Anthony d’Offay Gallery, 2001; and Beck’s Futures 2002, ICA and tour, 2002–3. Among his solo exhibitions were Alternative Art Space, Chiltern Street, 1993; London Art House at The Coningsby Gallery, 1998; and Floating Islands, Habitat Gallery, King’s Road, 2001.
