Painter, draughtsman, printmaker and teacher, born and lived in Birkenhead, Cheshire, who did an art and design foundation at Wirral Metropolitan College, 1992–3; gained a fine art honours degree, Liverpool John Moores University, 1993–6; with a research fellowship in drawing, St Helens College, 1996–9. Palin was a prize winner, St Helens Open, 1997; held residencies, The Foss, Munich, Germany, 1998, and Temple Bar Galleries, Dublin, Ireland, 1999; and was Young Artist of the Year, Hunting Art Prizes, Royal College of Art, 2000. He was co-founder and curator, Parking Space Gallery, Liverpool, 1998–9; taught at St Helens College, 1999–00; and in 2000 taught at Knowsley Community College. Group exhibitions included The Garrick/Milne Prize, Christie’s, and The Discerning Eye, Mall Galleries, both 2000.
