Painter and lecturer, born in Dundee, Angus, who studied at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art there, 1985–8. From 1997 he lectured part-time at Dundee College. Among awards won were the Latimer Award at RSA and the Alexander Graham Munro Award; he gained the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Award twice; and in 2001 was granted the Glasgow Art Club Prize by the RSW, of which he was a member from 1995, which entitled him to a solo show at its premises. Took part in group exhibitions in Scotland and America and had a series of one-man shows, including Thompson’s Marylebone in 2003. Dundee Art Galleries and Museums, the Qatar Royal Family, RSA, Perth Royal Infirmary and corporate collections held examples.
