Painter producing abstract works, systematically applied marks in bands and grids, as in New Art in Scotland, Centre for Contemporary Arts, Glasgow, 1994. Born in Hamilton, New Zealand, Martin studied there at Christchurch Polytechnic, 1983–4, then in Britain at Brighton Polytechnic, 1989–90, and Glasgow School of Art, 1990–95. Exhibitions included Paperworks, Seagate Gallery, Dundee, 1992, and RSA Student Exhibition in Edinburgh from 1993.
