Draughtsman who graduated from Winchester School of Art, 1988. The previous year Hobbs had found a copy of H V Morton’s 1927 book In Search of England in a car boot sale. He set out to recreate Morton’s journey, keeping a journal and making 400 drawings of places and buildings Morton had seen. The drawings showed the influence of Hobbs’ teacher Dennis Creffield and through him the approach of Creffield’s own teacher David Bomberg. A group of the drawings was shown at Wolseley Fine Arts, 1996.
