Painter and printmaker who was born near Doncaster, Yorkshire, and married the artist Frances Crawshaw. He attended Cambridge University, qualified as a solicitor, then studied art in Germany and Paris. Early in the century he worked in Yorkshire, based at Whitby. Exhibited RA, Walker’s Galleries, RSW, ROI and at many other galleries. Signed work L C in the form of of a monogram. Towards the end of his life lived at Newton Abbot, Devon.
