Painter and miniaturist who studied at Herkomer Art School at Bushey, Hertfordshire, from 1899. The Cowderoy family eventually settled there, and Kate became one of a circle of artists celebrated with an exhibition by the Bushey Museum Trust in 1988. From 1904 for a time Cowderoy lived in Karlsruhe, Germany, looking after two girls, through a Herkomer family connection. In the summer of 1914 Cowderoy visited Paris for a few months, later showing at the Salon, and she painted landscapes in northern France and Belgium. As well as landscapes, portraits and genre pictures, she gained many commissions for miniatures, latterly favouring flowers, gardens and cats as subjects. Exhibitions also included RA and Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
