Painter of portraits and landscapes, born in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. He studied at the College of Art there, Maidstone College of Art, 1968–71, and Royal Academy Schools, 1972–5. While there he won the E T Greenshields Award for Study Abroad and the David Murray Landscape Award. In 1980 he held a one-man show at Royal Academy Schools’ Gallery and gained a Richard Ford Travelling Scholarship to Spain to study at the Prado. Ford showed often at RA, was a member of RBA and also took part in mixed exhibitions at NEAC, RP, RI and widely in the provinces. Lived in Brighton, Sussex.
