Painter of equestrian subjects, specialising in Lipizzaner stallions and Egyptian racing ponies. Also painted inn signs. Born in Hounslow, Middlesex, her father was Colonel Gostling Murray, her mother an amateur artist. Colmore studied at Heatherley’s School of Fine Art with Henry Massey, in Paris at the Académie Julian and in several studios. She showed at the NEAC and at the Paris Salon, where she won a diploma. Among her patrons were HRH The Maharajah of Jaipur, HRH The Prince Ali Khan and the Duchess of Westminster. During World War I Colmore, who enjoyed travel, drove a mobile canteen in the Middle East. Late in life she drove a car across Africa. Lived near Andover, Hampshire.
