Artist in oil, gouache and mixed media and teacher, born Dorking, Surrey, married for a time to the painter Padraig Macmiadhachain. She was “proud to be a self-taught painter”, having attended Winchester School of Art to study textile design, graduating with honours in 1981, in 1982 gaining a postgraduate diploma in printmaking. Obtained a travel award to Holland. Began teaching in 1982, appointments including Southampton Institute of Higher Education, Chelsea and Winchester Schools of Art and Maidenhead College of Art and Design. Exhibitions included Picture Post Gallery, 1981; Salisbury Playhouse, Salisbury, 1984; Stephen Bartley Gallery from 1988; RWA from 1990; The Discerning Eye, 1992, where she won a prize; and Laing Competition, Winchester, 1993.
