Painter who said that her pictures involved two processes: “The first is preparing material and the second is making something with it.” Her entry to John Moores Liverpool Exhibition in 1985, Table, Vase and Fork, employed acrylic paint, canvas and mattress tacking. Bergman was born and lived in London and studied at St Martin’s School of Art, 1963–7. After a first show at Garage Art in 1973 exhibited regularly in Britain and abroad. Had a solo show with Crafts Council Gallery in 1984 from which Arts Council bought her creation Thunderthighs.
