Holographic artist, teacher and writer, born in Birmingham, who spent her childhood in Kenya, 1948–58. She studied painting at Birmingham College of Art, 1958–60; then was at Slade School, including a postgraduate year, 1961–6; her doctoral project at Royal College of Art, 1989–94, How is Holography Art, being sponsored by Ilford Ltd. Held a number of fellowships, including Leverhulme Senior Art Fellow, University of Strathclyde, 1971–3, after being Fellow in Fine Art, University of Nottingham, 1968–71, also being Creative Arts Fellow, Australian National University, Canberra, 1978–9. Taught extensively, starting with silkscreen printing at Byam Shaw School, 1965–6, later appointments including visiting tutor to the holography unit, Royal College of Art, 1985–9.
