Painter, born in Weybridge, Surrey, who studied at Kingston School of Art, 1949–51, then at École des Beaux-Arts, Paris, 1951–2, and at Slade School of Fine Art, 1953, with Lucian Freud. After having a family of four she began painting professionally in 1960, showing at John Moores Liverpool Exhibition, 1961, New Art Centre, Rowan Gallery and elsewhere. In 1963 she was a prizewinner at Arnolfini Open Competition, Bristol. Ferens Art Gallery, Hull, holds her work Mauve and Yellow, 1962. Beeson was a member of the St Ives art scene in the 1960s, although living in Devon. “My painting was Abstract Expressionist and was influenced by a period of four years when I was in Canada and America.” Lived in Manaton, Devon.
