Painter, teacher and writer, full name Kenneth Krome Barratt, who signed some work Krome. He studied civil engineering at West Ham College of Technology and art at Sir John Cass College, 1947–51. Was principal lecturer at Polytechnic of North London, lectured on history and technology of painting and was also an engineering designer. Work included abstracts, seascapes and landscapes. Published Logic and Design in 1980. Barratt was president of NS and ROI, a member of RBA, showing also at RA and overseas galleries. Had solo shows at Drian Galleries and AIA. Towner Art Gallery, Eastbourne, holds his work. Lived in Hockley, Essex.
