Painter, born in Edinburgh. He studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee, 1971–6. Became a full-time painter in 1983. Adamson’s pictures explored relationships, real and abstract, through figures posed in interiors or on a seashore. He participated in many group shows and had solo exhibitions including Cylinder Gallery in 1984 and 1985, Thumb Gallery in 1988 and Art First 2000. Adamson’s pictures are held by Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; and Wiltshire Education Department. Lived in St Leonards-on-Sea, Sussex.
